The first sheet contains a useful Table of Contents to see how the HIS PM Toolkit templates link together. It also contains a set of Excel-based spreadsheets supporting components of all stages. These components are referenced and linked throughout the templates.
Phase 1: Project Development
This section is intended to guide project managers through the likely topical areas to consider in preparing for a HIS project. If used, the included ‘Prepare’ document template will need to be updated over time. The implementing team should expect this document to have many versions and to grow over time.

Stage 2 - Plan
This section is intended to guide project managers through planning a HIS project. If used, the included ‘Plan’ document template will need to be updated over time. The implementing team should expect this document to have many versions and to grow over time.
Stage 3 - Design and Develop
This section is intended to guide project managers through the design and development stage of a HIS project. If used, the included ‘Design and Develop’ document template will need to be updated over time. The implementing team should expect this document to have many versions and to grow over time.
Stage 4 - Test & Implement
This section is intended to guide project managers through the testing and implementing stage of a HIS project. If used, the included ‘Test and Implement’ document template will need to be updated over time. The implementing team should expect this document to have many versions and to grow over time.

Stage 5 - Operationalize
This section is intended to guide project managers through documenting the final specifications of the newly developed technical system and conducting an annual operations assessment of the HIS for continued maintenance (and sustainability) of the HIS. If used, the included ‘Final Product Overview & Annual Operations Assessment’ document template will need to be updated over time. The implementing team should expect this document to have many versions and to grow over time.

This section is intended to guide project managers through the closeout of a HIS project. If used, the included ‘Project Closeout - Disposition’ document template will need to be updated over time. The implementing team should expect this document to have many versions and to grow over time.
