What is OHISS?
Overall Health Information Systems Support (OHISS) enables country Health Information Systems (HIS) leaders to strengthen and enhance HIS strategic planning, standards, policies, and governance, as well as workforce capacity development by providing a variety of collaboratively developed, standardized, reusable generic tools and interventions that can be adapted and adopted by countries. Further, OHISS provides tools and processes that support country HIS leaders in make the organizations informatics-savvy* to help identify status and the opportunities for advancement.
(*An Informatics-Savvy Organization (ISO) has a national level vision, policy, and governance approach outlining the use of data, and information and communication technologies as strategic assets; a skilled workforce capable of using information and information technology tools; and a suite of well designed, effectively used information systems that support partner government strategy.)
