The Health Information System Project Management Toolkit (HIS PM Toolkit) is a series of adaptable templates and trainings that can support better management and documentation of digital health interventions.

Project Management Tool Pack

The tool pack is an Excel-based set of templates that pair with the overall PM templates.

It also has a useful Table of Contents to see how the HIS PM Toolkit templates link together, and contains the set of spreadsheets that support components of all stages.

Phase 1: Project Development

Stage 1 - Prepare

This template is used to develop the high-level project scope and begin getting preliminary governance, schedule, and compliance requirements outlined. It is intended to support the transition from a funded project proposal towards a Project Charter.

Stage 2 - Project Charter Plan

This template guides project managers through creating a more detailed project plan (a charter) with sections on the requirements gathering process, project organization, implementation planning, policy compliance, risk mitigation, and evaluation strategy.

Stage 3 - Design and Develop

This template guides the software design and development stage. It helps detail project requirements including software and hardware, and begins deeper implementation planning including training, policy compliance, security, and compliance testing. This document supports capturing the technical details of the project.
